To start, let’s agree that consistency is good, it is foundational to trust and performance improvement. If you do something 100 times and the same thing happens each time you trust that the next time you do it the same thing will happen. Also, if you do something 100 times you will learn more about how it works and, in the process learn how to make it better.
Management systems strive for consistency. When the word “thinking” is added to the end of the phrase “management system” something more happens. Management system thinking is verb, it leads to action, it invokes a way of thinking. Given the ISO 55000/1 ecosystem, this way of thinking is predestined to follow a certain path.
