Asset Management is all about Outcomes. Disciplined asset management does not focus on managing assets, it focuses on managing value generated from and through assets. This is why the ISO Technical Committee that publishes the ISO 55000 standards series wrote a paper titled “Managing Assets in the Context of Asset Management”. This journal explains how management maturity developed by “managing assets” can evolve into something bigger and more impactful – that is maintaining operational readiness through “asset management”.
